If you are a crusader for A Cause, and oft find yourself frustrated at how hard it is to convince people of how right you are, there are three probable explanations.

1. You habitually argue with people who can't be convinced.
2. You are terrible at arguing.
3. You are wrong.

If you always think it's the first one, that actually makes it more likely that it's the second and/or third.

I've recently become aware how animal ownership is an ethically detestable act. Farmers must farm animals for us to eat. Other than this I'm not sure there's a valid argument for anyone thinking that it's morally sound to incarcerate an animal and breed out its natural instincts with no reasonable explanation.

People think I'm crazy. A few people, however, have been made very uncomfortable about my logical and sensible explanations.

I don't bring this matter up with many people to avoid 1) as much as possible. The lame excuses I get rule out 2) and the matter is so very simple I'm not sure 3) applies.

Which would indicate 1). The people who are likely to be wrong are generally people who don't even seem to consider 2) or 3) at all. They are literally unable to consider that they might be responsible for their failure.

Still, this is tongue in cheek. I am perfectly aware that some combination of the three, or some other factor, may be in play. And I did leave room for the idea that one might be right and its just hard to convince most people of the matter.
