It's not like this is even the first Disney movie to use the trope (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OfCorsetHurts), and it may even be a reference to the Pirates series.
Also, the vikings never had dragons, much less highly-marketable ones (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0892769/). It's almost as if these are all cartoon movies for kids!
