Gosh, you'd think Ginny was a teenage girl who had a crush on Harry at Gabrielle's age or something, except Gabrielle has a genetic tendency to be found more attractive by men and boys when she's older, just like her big sister, and Ginny knows she has a crush on Harry.
OH WAIT.
Incidentally, here's what Gabrielle looked like at that point. That's certainly older-looking than eleven. The actress apparently had a growth spurt in the intervening three years.
Ginny's behavior towards Gabrielle during Bill and Fleur's wedding. Veela charms be damned, Gabrielle is only eleven years old! It's not like Harry's a pedophile. Moreover, Gabrielle only seemed to have an innocent crush on Harry... Yes, Ginny is a teenager, but she is also supposed to be Harry's soulmate. If she doesn't trust him around someone who hasn't hit puberty yet, then how is this relationship supposed to work?

She does something similar with Cho towards the end of the book. Sure, it's perfectly normal for someone to be irrational regarding someone they have feelings for, especially teenagers. but really? Did Ginny honestly believe Harry's going to have a hookup with his old flame (a relationship which ended in disaster over two years ago) while they're getting ready for the Final Battle? Can't Ginny trust him for fifteen minutes? It's not like Pureblood wizards see the same romance films Muggles do."Yes, I know teenagers are irrational when it comes to love, but Ginny is being too irrational, even in this world of flying broomsticks, magic, and owl mail."
Heck, the fact that Ginny is so often touted by Rowling as the perfect soulmate for Harry (sometimes at Cho's expense, too!) even though all the above implies that's not the case.I fail to see how a teenage girl being insecure about her relationship with a boy implies that she's any less suited for him or he for her.
On another note, Ginny's treatment of Fleur throughtout HBP and parts of DH. Sure, Fleur is a little vain and snooty, but she certainly is not the horrible Alpha Bitch that deserves to be called Phlegm (a really stupid nickname, no matter what anyone says). And on top of that is the fact that Fleur is dating Ginny's brother, and thus should've been treated with a little more respect than that. Even worse is that Ginny gets off scot free with this! Lord knows that if I ever acted like that, my family would put me through the wringer so fast it'd make your head spin!Well, there is the little fact that Molly was also prejudiced against Fleur for most of HBP, and Ginny is under no obligation to show "respect" to someone when they're not around. Ginny can be vindictive and thoughtless. This also makes her quick to act and react. It's called "being a flawed and human character".
So he sends Fawkes to [rescue Sirius] instead, while he stays with the Minister the whole time. Nobody is going to believe a theory where a phoenix helps Voldemort's supposed "lieutenant" escape, now would they?Phoenixes are kind of noticeable, what with being brightly colored birds that glow in the dark.
