It was tasty, it filled me up, and it was cheap to make.

I'm feeling really good about myself and my abilities lately.

This worries me immensely.

What kind of salad was it? I find pepperonicinis(sp?) improve the taste of even the blandest salads immensely.

About 300g of Iceberg Lettuce (chopped), fried Onion (diced), about half of a Tomato (diced),some Canned corn, 2 slices of back Bacon (chopped), some salt, and Honey Mustard dressing from Sainsburys which seemed oddly spicy.

I'd make it for breakfast, but I'm out of tomato. I could substitute egg or corned beef for bacon.

All told, I could probably get about three salads out of less than £5 of food. The biggest problem is how fast the lettuce wilts; two days from when I bought it. Also, it doesn't seem to be particularly nutritious. I need to examine my options.

Got the idea from To Sir With Love, when Thackeray teaches the kids how to make a salad, 'cause it's easy and cheap. Here are some more I found just now;

Sounds good to me. I dig black beans + corn on salad, I'll usually throw a little cilantro on there and make it tex-mex themed.

Long live cheap, delicious chow.

tl;dr version

Bachelor has some salad and other stuff, and just throws it together with vague culinary guidelines, and it comes out good.

I'm not much for peppers. Come to think, I think the local supermarket has some pickles. Hmm.
