She said that one couldn't turn on the alarm with windows open, and "there are other people in the house".
I'm the only other person here, I'm set up with my laptop and scanner in our living room, which already has plenty of air, and a fan about six inches from my knee, and her bedroom is at the other end of the house.
Apparently, it makes perfect sense for her to leave her windows open when she's not in the house, but only if there's someone else in the house to derive absolutely no benefit from it.
