It's basically a hack n' slash Capture-the-Flag, wherein the flag is each team's princess, hidden inside the enemy base. The opposing team can feed the princess food in order to make her heavier, which makes it harder for your team to carry her out once you eventually gain access.
When you hear this premise, do you think:
Seriously*, what on earth is "splendiferous retrofuck jackholery"? Don King himself wouldn't touch that phrase.
*Every time I hear someone use the word "hetronomative" in a non-ironic manner, I immediately start taking whatever they're talking about at least 20% less seriously. They could be talking about mentally-impaired Mongolian kitten war orphans, and I'd still have to hold back snickering.
EDIT 28/7/08: I thought "hetronormative" was a fancy word for bigoted, due to some vague memory about the meaning of "hetro", and the way Ms. McEwan was using it. Upon research, I realized both I and Melissa were wrong; the word refers to the "marginalization of non-heterosexuals and variations from a heterosexual orientation, or the assumption that heterosexuality can be the only normal sexual orientation." While that definition may violate Wikipedia's own polocies on "Weasel Words", the phrase itself still smacks of the sort of liberal-art-majoring, Starbucks-drinking, Mac-owning, pseudointellectualism NPR listeners are frequently stereotyped as having.
