Tamora Pierce's "Circle Of Magic" series takes place over about eight years. There's the original CoM quartet, when the four leads are about ten, The Circle Opens, about four years later, and The Will of the Empress, four years later still.

During his Opens book, "Street Magic", Briar picks up an apprentice, a ten-year old girl from not-China named Evvy. She and Briar's teacher, Rosethorn, recently got their own book, taking place between Opens and Empress. You following me, reader guy? Good. Here's the cover.

How hard is it, exactly, to find a 12/13-year old looking Asian model? My reaction was "hey, that girl's pretty darn cute." Then I scroll down and find out it's supposed to be Evvy. And then someone comes over and presses the "reset" button on the back of my neck to get me out of bluescreen.
