I always liked olivia from fringe as a strong female character. She's a badass, but she's also a woman at the same time, and maintains a pretty good balance of the two- generally women are portrayed as characterizations and not as people on television, and are either one extreme or the other or have oafishly unrealistic tendencies drawn from nonsensical feminine steriotypes. I don't know SVU at all, and have only seen a smidge of castle, but just wanted to throw that out there. One of my favourite discussions is what makes a good female character, because female leads are so unusual you can tell who wrote the script(either a man or a woman) by how the lead is portrayed(And also how to tell how good the writer is, the more human the lead, generally the better the writer and you usually can't tell their sex by their portrayal). ANYWAYS I WILL STOP HERE BEFORE I WRITE A DISSERTATION.
