A customer mentioned that he wanted an Wacom* Intuos to the woman he was in the store with. I pointed out that it's kind of advanced for a starter tablet; maybe he should try the Graphire or Bamboo instead.

Next thing I know, I'm showing him and his friend my work on DA and my sketchbook, and they're saying they're impressed and offering me a job at their manga studio.

No kiddin'.

I turn them down, citing production speed**, and we go our separate ways.

Funny; I've never considered myself professional-grade. I've always considered GMC-level something to work toward, not something I can actually achieve. I even have a little snippet of the blog entry I'll write ifwhen I get a job arting in my head; "Apparently, someone wants to pay me for my scribblings. I have no idea why."

Hopefully, at that point, I'll have a loving wife who is cute, Asian, and good at Halo. And I'm willing to negotiate on the Asian thing.***

I suppose that says something of my self-esteem.

*I've had one of the things for years, and I still don't know how to pronounce it.
**Glaciers draw finished digital work faster than me. Or they would, if glaciers drew. I must INCREASE PRODUCTION.
***I have several cute, Asian, gaming artists flisted, and I'm fairly certain the only one who isn't a lesbian has a boyfriend already. And he's the writer of a successful webcomic. EVERYTHING REMINDS ME OF MY FAILURE.
